Hybrid Cloud ERP: Keeping Your Factory Running When the Internet Drops

Factory floors across India lose internet connectivity more often than most software vendors are willing to admit — sometimes for minutes during a local outage, occasionally for hours during infrastructure work in industrial areas. A cloud-only ERP treats every one of those minutes as downtime. That's not an acceptable trade for a production line that can't stop just because a router did.

BowERP's hybrid deployment model runs a full local database instance inside the factory's own network, physically on-premise. Every scan, batch update, and inventory movement is written to this local instance first, so floor operations never wait on an internet connection to complete a transaction. A lightweight sync agent then replicates changes to the AWS or Azure private cloud instance whenever connectivity is available, and reconciles any conflicts using a last-writer-wins policy scoped per warehouse.

The result, in practice: our remote support team has monitored client sites through multiple multi-hour local outages without a single lost transaction or a single minute of production-line downtime. When connectivity returns, sync typically completes within seconds for a standard shift's worth of data.

This is also why we recommend local IoT hardware sync for biometric and barcode scanning hardware specifically — devices that write to the local instance directly are immune to the exact failure mode that would otherwise be most disruptive to a factory floor.
